The amazing race

I've had an adventure today. My car had a flat, the van was not going to crank, and dad needed the truck. And I was supposed to lead a carpool to Fort Pulaski...on the other side of Savannah. So dad dropped me off at school, we were sure someone would meet us there that had a car...
or not...
So, as dad leaves, it's me and one other girl...who doesn't have a car. We thought, hey, let's take the CAT bus. So we did. I have never ridden on public transportation....ever! I was just laughing to myself, thinking about my car as we rode downtown. When we reached the station to change buses, we realized we'd missed the bus to the islands by 5 minutes. The next one would leave in an hour. What to do? Call in a favor. When you can't do it by yourself, call a friend's mom!
Ah, cell phones. "Miss Ann? What are you doing today?"
"Well, i'm in town right now, I'm about to head home. Why?"
"Any reason for you to come downtown?"
"About to head through there, actually... what do you need?"
"A ride to Fort Pulaski."
"Where are you?"
"Broughton Street...in front of the SCAD theatre."
"And you got there...."
"Um, I was sleepwalking. No, I took the bus. My car's getting a new tire"
Laughter..."No problem, see you in a minute."
"Miss Ann, I love you!!!"
And thus we made it. And got back to campus, too by begging a ride of another friend. And I managed to mooch lunch off someone else too. I feel like a college kid or something like that. Yeah, very resourceful.
And environmentally-friendly for riding the bus.

Duh. Welcome to the south. Everyone is called that, you only call, like, professors or something by mrs. I suppose since i am a language major, i should have used the correct phonetic spelling...Miz Ann.

Thanks for the compromise, Christine! I'm trying to get my hair back to normal too. The crazy things we do.
